Fixed Term Maritime Technical Manager

The Ministry of Transport seeks Expressions of Interest for a Fixed Term Maritime Technical Manager to be based in the Maritime Division. The Goals of the position are: • Lead the implementation of the Maritime Action Plan and, following a scoping visit from Maritime NZ, lead the implementation of prioritized activities identified and supported by the Pacific Maritime Safety Programme. • Support the Compliance Manager and Director of Maritime to promote and enhance a safe, secure and clean maritime environment and facilitate an efficient maritime transport service. • Assist with Maritime oversight duties while building the capacity of Cook Islands officers in the Maritime sector. Applicant must possess a high degree of integrity, be impartial in carrying out tasks, be tactful and possess good communication skills.
