Events Coordinator

Ministry of Cultural Development – Rarotonga, Cook Islands We're Hiring: Events Coordinator Are you passionate about bringing island culture to life through events? Do you have the drive to manage both traditional and virtual experiences with creativity and professionalism? The Ministry of Cultural Development is looking for a full-time Events Coordinator to help us plan, organize, and deliver meaningful cultural events that celebrate and preserve our unique identity especially during this time of our 60^th Year of self-governance. About the Role In this role, you’ll take the lead in planning and executing a variety of cultural and virtual based cultural events from coordinating logistics and engaging communities, to managing promotion of our events in the media - you'll be the driving force behind experiences that educate, inspire, and bring people together. Key Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and deliver cultural events including national events,
• Work with island teams, communities, and external partners to ensure event success
• Handle event logistics, budgeting, reporting, and on-the-day operations
• Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders and cultural groups
• Support the development of skills within the events team and community participants

What we’re looking for:

• Proven experience in planning and delivering events,
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills,
• A proactive, solutions-focused attitude with the ability to adapt quickly,
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines,
• Passion for Cook Islands culture and community engagement,
• Leadership in skills development and team collaboration,
